Editorial Reviewers

CritterCalcs separates tool engineering from subject-matter review. Two independent reviewers verify the content within their respective scopes: a practising veterinary surgeon for clinical, toxicity, and medication content; a veterinary nutrition academic for feeding, dietetics, and weight-management content. Each calculator and blog post is assigned to one reviewer based on topic fit (sitefactory §1I); pages outside both scopes display no review byline rather than inventing one.

Ivana PintarClinical, Toxicity & Veterinary Safety

MRCVS. Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS #7218452). Ivana Pintar, MRCVS, reviews all medical, toxicity, and health-related content on CritterCalcs. She is a practising veterinary surgeon registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS registration number 7218452), registered since 21 April 2017. Her field of practice is clinical practice (private), meaning she is actively treating patients — not in a retired or non-clinical role. MRCVS — Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons — is a legally protected title under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966. Only veterinary surgeons who hold a recognised veterinary degree and maintain active registration with the RCVS may use it. Maintaining registration requires completing 35 hours per year of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), monitored by the RCVS. This ensures that the vet reviewing CritterCalcs content is current with evolving veterinary science and clinical best practice.

Reviews all medication dosage calculations, toxicity thresholds, vaccination protocols, weight management recommendations, and any content on CritterCalcs that makes clinical health claims.

Prof. Tomislav MašekPet Nutrition & Dietetics

PhD. University of Zagreb, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Animal Nutrition and Dietetics. Full Professor in the Department of Animal Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

Reviews nutrition- and feeding-related calculator content on CritterCalcs — daily caloric intake, food portioning, growth-stage feeding, raw-feeding ratios, and weight management framed as a nutrition rather than clinical question. Aquarium calculators (tank physics, lighting, filtration, fertiliser dosing, water chemistry) fall within scope as fish-keeping is a nutrition/dietetics-adjacent vertical per the department's coverage of exotic and aquatic species. Blog content covering exercise and caloric expenditure, growth nutrition, body-condition assessment, and pet ownership economics falls in the same review scope.
